Your team

You will be part of the Premises Division in the Directorate Administration. Our Directorate has 330 staff providing all buildings-related services and facilities management for premises owned or leased by the ECB.

We are currently searching for a Facilities Operations Specialist to stand in for a colleague on maternity leave.

In your role as a Facilities Operations Specialist, you will be part of the Technical Facility Management Section (TFM) – a team of 25 members of staff responsible for operations and maintenance for the ECB’s premises. We conduct contract supervision and technical supervision for the external service providers who perform the related tasks. 

TFM provides technical expertise to ensure cost and quality control in the operation and improvement of the buildings and their technical infrastructure. It works closely with the Construction Project Management Section and the Corporate Real Estate Management Section, the Security and Safety Division and the Administrative Services Division, and with the Directorate General Information Systems.

Your role

As a Facilities Operations Specialist you will:

  • provide expertise in the field of data analytics; 
  • provide expertise in the field of dashboard development for team members as well as for management;
  • manage the work of our external service providers in your area of responsibility, using our computer-aided facility management (CAFM) system and a set of key performance indicators;
  • strive to continuously improve systems and related services, including interfaces between premises industrial control systems and analytical tools;
  • develop data concepts and coordinate all requirements for the implementation of a long-term maintenance strategy;
  • support the service managers in the Section with the analytics on tickets in the CAFM system;
  • contribute to the successful operation and maintenance of the ECB’s premises.

Qualifications, experience and skills

Essential: 

  • a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business administration, data science, information technology, or another relevant field (see How you can join us for details on degree equivalences);
  • in addition to the above, a minimum of two years’ experience in the field of data analytics and dashboard development; 
  • experience in Tableau and DISC;
  • an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Desired: 

  • experience in data harmonising and manipulation of data stemming from Neuberger building automation, Planon CAFM and Janitza GridVis systems and databases;
  • experience in facilities management, preferably in the operations and maintenance field.

Working modalities

The advertised role is a part-time 50% E/F band position. The percentage may be increased, based on business needs and organisational requirements.

The contract offered will be fixed-term, the appointment being until the end of August 2024. 

Temporary appointments may be extended or made permanent subject to organisational needs and budgetary constraints. This may result in a staff member with a non-convertible fixed-term contract being offered a convertible contract in accordance with the ECB Conditions of Employment.
