Your team

You will be part of the digital euro project team in the Directorate General Market Infrastructures and Payments (DG-MIP). DG-MIP has around 150 staff providing market infrastructures (TARGET2, T2S, TIPS, ECMS), oversight of market infrastructures and payment systems, and catalyst functions in the areas of market integration and market innovation. 

Our Directorate General hosts the ECB’s team working on the possible future issuance of a digital euro for retail payment services, which is also a transversal Eurosystem team including other business areas at the ECB as well.
   
In your role as a market infrastructure expert business and quality analysis in the ECB’s digital euro team, you will contribute to the technical proposals for developing a digital euro and supporting its business architecture in line with functional and non-functional requirements.

Your role

As a Market infrastructure expert business and quality analysis you will:

  • conduct business analytical work for the digital euro business and functional architecture; 
  • support the work to define the business, technical, operational, testing and security requirements for a digital euro, including its integration with other infrastructures or interactions with external systems;
  • support the evaluation and selection of potential providers for different aspects of a digital euro, according to the requirements defined; 
  • present and explain technical solutions to different internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications, experience and skills

Essential:
  • a master’s degree or equivalent in business administration, computer science, economics, finance, law, political science, project management, STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics), or another relevant field (click here for details on degree equivalences);
  • in addition to the above, a minimum of five years’ professional experience in the retail payments industry, in the private sector or in a central bank defining  business requirements for the implementation of IT projects for retail payments solutions, covering their design, configuration, testing and deployment to production;
  • experience in the quality assessment of providers’ offers for modern retail payment solutions;
  • knowledge of current discussions surrounding central bank digital currencies;
  • strong analytical and communication skills;
  • an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Desired: 
  • professional experience both in the private sector (in the area of payments) and in a central bank;
  • experience in communicating with multiple stakeholders from diverse backgrounds (consumers, technology providers, etc.) in a multicultural environment.
