The ECB is an inclusive employer and we strive to reflect the diversity of the population we serve. We encourage you to apply, irrespective of your gender, gender identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability or other characteristics.

• ensure effective communication and cooperation among the Directorate’s divisions, as well as with other ECB business areas;
• help identify key risks which merit supervisory attention and define the strategic priorities for ECB Banking Supervision by actively engaging with the wider ECB senior management team and fostering interaction and collaboration across business areas;
• contribute to ensuring the consistency and quality of supervisory outcomes, by acting as a second line of defence;
• represent the business area and the ECB by participating in and/or chairing, as appropriate, internal and external meetings and maintaining excellent working contacts with the members of the SSM as well as other relevant international and European organisations.

The position offers you excellent opportunities to strategically lead, inspire and empower colleagues to strengthen the harmonisation of supervisory standards and the soundness and stability of the European banking system, and to develop your team’s capabilities and professional expertise.

• in addition to the above, at least ten years’ relevant professional experience in banking supervision, financial stability or central banking, or risk management and internal audit in the banking sector or at a relevant European or international public organisation, or in another relevant area;
• at least five years of experience in leading and managing teams of highly qualified staff from diverse backgrounds;
• a track record in leading transformation in a business context and in change management; • proven ability to efficiently chair meetings with participants from different countries and organisations, excellent presentation skills and the ability to represent the ECB in high-level international fora;
• an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, https://www.coe.int/en/web/common-european-framework-reference-languages/table-1-cefr-3.3-common-reference-levels-global-scale.
