Your team

You will be part of the Business Partnering Division (BPA) in the Directorate General Human Resources (DG/HR) and will help us to deliver on our vision: thrilled and talented people working for a prosperous Europe. With around 100 staff members, the Directorate General provides services to approximately 3,500 employees.

The main tasks of the Business Partnering Division are to:

  • act as an interface between HR and other business areas on personnel and staffing matters;
  • roll out HR initiatives and processes to serve the needs of employees and managers;
  • identify and advise on the needs of the ECB business areas, including workforce planning and performance management;
  • follow-up on staff engagement surveys, mobility initiatives and specific client-driven projects;
  • achieve the right balance in driving the HR agenda for the business.

You will join DG/HR’s Stakeholder Engagement Hub and help us to develop and enhance relationships with key stakeholder groups and participate in the daily activities and operations of our two portfolios: staff & labour relations and diversity & inclusion (D&I).

In particular, the two new trainees of HR’s Stakeholder Engagement Hub will, depending on the portfolio they are assigned to:

  • facilitate the interaction of DG/HR with the ECB’s staff representation bodies;
  • take care of daily operations with the aim of maintaining a healthy social internal dialogue;
  • coordinate the follow-up with the ECB’s decision-making bodies;
  • directly plan and manage content with ECB managers and experts when preparing for high-level meetings;
  • contribute to D&I initiatives to foster diversity in all its facets and a culture of inclusive behaviour at the ECB, and facilitate the implementation of both across the ECB;
  • manage, engage and collaborate with D&I stakeholders and support the implementation of the D&I local initiatives across the organisation;
  • support interactions with external stakeholders and exchanges with other institutions on D&I best practices and experiences.

The ECB is an inclusive employer and we strive to reflect the diversity of the population we serve. We encourage you to apply, irrespective of your gender, gender identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability or other characteristics.

Your role

You will contribute to the ongoing work of the team, for example by preparing presentations, coordinating and drafting briefing requests, facilitating and contributing to the organisation or delivery of various initiatives and events, conducting data analysis, and carrying out market research or benchmarking studies.

The position offers you excellent opportunities to put into practice the knowledge you acquired during your studies, and you will gain an insight into the ECB’s activities and contribute to its mission. You will be part of a multicultural team that strives for continuous innovation to make a positive impact on the lives of European citizens.
