Your team
You will be part of the Directorate General Human Resources, which has over 100 members of staff providing services to approximately 4,000 ECB employees. You will help us support the committed and talented people working for Europe and further improve the way we work together. You will help us develop agile, customer-centric and strategic HR solutions and services in the areas of staff/leadership development, performance and career management, talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion, business partnering, labour relations and stakeholder/employee engagement. The ECB is an inclusive employer, and we strive to reflect the diversity of the population we serve. We encourage you to apply irrespective of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or other characteristics.
Your role
As a trainee, you will contribute to ongoing work and new initiatives in the Division you will be assigned to (Business Partnering Division or Talent Management Division). Based on your education, areas of expertise or knowledge and – whenever possible – your preferences, you will be assigned to one or more of the following teams, with various responsibilities.
Talent Management Division
- Development Experience: you will help design, develop and implement solutions, services and/or tools in fields such as talent acquisition, career development, including mobility and performance management.
- Talent Enablers and Culture: you will be involved in initiatives relating to staff engagement, working culture, diversity and inclusion, and HR communications.
- Learning Experience: you will contribute to developing, designing and implementing learning and development initiatives at the ECB and/or across the European System of Central Banks and the Single Supervisory Mechanism.
Business Partnering Division
- HR Business Partners: you will be part of a team that partners with all ECB leaders to have a strategic impact on a broad range of people matters. You will support the team in running their seasonal activities and preparing ad hoc initiatives.
- HR Employee Partners: you will be part of a team that advises employees on HR policies around professional development, supports their growth and builds engagement across the ECB. You will support the team in delivering their services – newcomer onboarding sessions, farewell talks, outreach to colleagues on unpaid leave and upskilling/training sessions.
- Talent Acquisition: you will support recruitment processes by conducting data analysis, carrying out benchmarking studies and contributing to employer branding and talent attraction initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement Hub (Labour Relations): you will support and facilitate the ECB’s interactions with staff representation bodies (Staff Committee and trade unions), contributing to a healthy social dialogue.
- Stakeholder Engagement Hub (Diversity and Inclusion – D&I): you will support the team in developing and implementing D&I initiatives and collaborating with key stakeholders within the ECB (e.g., D&I ambassadors from different business areas and the ECB diversity networks) and across the European System of Central Banks.
In most teams, you will be required to conduct data analysis and benchmarking, make suggestions to improve products and processes and contribute your knowledge and data skills to projects within the respective division. Some teams may also require knowledge of and/or practical experience in the field of multimedia (content creation, visual reporting, video editing, basic graphic design).
The position offers you opportunities to put the knowledge you have acquired during your studies into practice. You will gain an insight into the ECB’s activities and contribute to the ECB’s mission. You will be part of a multicultural team that strives for continuous innovation to make a positive impact on the lives of European citizens.
