Your team

You will be part of the Governance and Transformation Services (GTS) Division, which acts as a cross-functional service platform for the three service areas that operate under the ECB’s Chief Services Officer (CSO), namely the Directorates General Corporate Services, Human Resources and Information Systems.

The GTS Division provides the CSO service areas with operational support and horizontal services in the areas of communication, service delivery and optimisation, financial management and quality management. The Division uses its skills and know-how, as well as best practices, methodologies and tools, to enable the CSO service areas to focus on their core functions and perform their key activities to an excellent standard.

We are seeking to recruit an Organisational Solutions Expert – Robotic Process Automation and Intelligent Automation. In your role, you will contribute to the ECB’s internal robotic process automation project and, after its initial implementation, further develop automation in the Division’s areas of professional expertise: optimisation, finance, sourcing, and project and service management.

Your role

As an Organisational Solutions Expert you will:

  • engage and work with other business areas, providing advice and partnering at all levels, and design and support the implementation of digitalisation, optimisation and automation solutions using robotic process automation (RPA) and artificial intelligence;
  • produce scalable self-service solutions based on building blocks for business automation using technologies such RPA and chatbots, working with DG Information Systems and internal business areas to simplify and automate internal services;
  • foster communication across the ECB and with other organisations, ensuring knowledge exchange, and inspire ideas for new fields of automation, for example through research and interacting with customers and vendors to optimise and automate business processes;
  • design data-driven solutions by establishing patterns and identify new fields for artificial intelligence (conducting analyses, identifying trends and performing quality checks) and design the visualisation and distribution of information in various platforms and channels;
  • design workshops, training courses and tools that contribute to sharing knowledge and developing best practices in CSO service areas and across the ECB.

Qualifications, experience and skills

Essential: 
  • a masters’ degree or equivalent in applied mathematics, digital finance or business technology management (click here for details on degree equivalences);
  • in addition to the above, at least seven years’ experience in the field of business-driven technologies, including RPA, data science, data analytics and artificial intelligence;
  • hands-on experience in driving projects end-to-end that bring automation and information insights on internal services, including rolling-out RPA solutions and information management dashboards;
  • experience in the transformation of internal services areas through digitalisation, including collecting and eliciting use cases including the use of case studies, and prototyping and designing visual dashboards;
  • hands-on experience in the application of artificial intelligence in internal services, management and administration; 
  • strong communication skills with the ability to share knowledge with experts and non-experts, presenting impactful proposals that combine business concepts and technology;
  • an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the .
Desired: 
  • experience in developing user-side and data-driven solutions using SQL, scripting and programming languages.

The contract(s) offered will be fixed-term, the appointment being for 2 years as of the exact starting date of the selected person. 

Temporary appointments may be extended or made permanent subject to organisational needs and budgetary constraints. This may result in a staff member with a non-convertible fixed-term contract being offered a convertible contract in accordance with the ECB Conditions of Employment.
