Your team
You will be part of the Web and Digital Division in the Directorate General Communications. Our Directorate General communicates the official views of the European Central Bank (ECB) and informs the public and the media about its tasks, mission and organisation. We develop and implement external and internal communications policies and coordinate communications activities across the ECB. We manage all media relations and public affairs, internal communications and the institutional web sites, and produce ECB publications. We provide information to the public at large, journalists, institutions, companies, academics, specialists and others, and answer their enquiries.
In your role as a Multimedia Specialist, you will be part of a team that is responsible, among other things, for developing the ECB’s digital communications strategy, including social media; designing and managing institutional web sites; and developing and maintaining the ECB’s corporate design. Your role
As a Multimedia Specialist you will:
- develop audio-visual storytelling productions across multiple platforms, to support related communication objectives and audio-visual requirements, with a focus on making complex topics accessible to the general public;
- perform the duties of an official photographer and videographer of the ECB, and transport, set up and operate equipment for location and studio productions;
- record and edit audio and video project files of podcasts and physical and virtual events, and perform related tasks;
- build up and run a fully capable multimedia studio, assess technical needs, research new equipment and investigate new trends;
- manage multimedia projects by collecting and analysing specifications, drafting documentation, briefing contractors and tracking all agreed schedules and deadlines;
- collaborate closely with other team members, internal stakeholders and external creative agencies and contractors.

Qualifications, experience and skills
Essential:
- a bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferably in photography or videography or another relevant field (click here for details on degree equivalences). Other fields will also be considered if combined with strong relevant professional qualifications;
- proven related professional experience, ideally of two years or more, with a proven track record of collaborative success;
- superior skills with photo equipment as well as digital image and video processing software from Adobe Creative Suite, combined with creative eye and artistic sensibility and awareness of various styles and latest photo and other audio-visual trends;
- strong organizational skills (including time and asset management), conceptual thinking and creative problem solving skills;
Desired:
- active involvement in big scope multimedia studio business cases that are built using robust project management production methodologies;
- experience with similar activities in a central bank or similar institution;
- expertise in visualising concepts and complex topics within a variety of campaigns and projects.

Temporary appointments may be extended or made permanent subject to organisational needs and budgetary constraints. This may result in a staff member with a non-convertible fixed-term contract being offered a convertible contract in accordance with the ECB Conditions of Employment.
