Your team
The ECB’s Directorate General Macroprudential Policy and Financial Stability (DG/MF) is seeking to fill several Management Assistant positions in its Stress Test Modelling division.
In your role as a Management Assistant you will contribute to the 2023 EU-wide stress test coordinated by the European Banking Authority and carried out by the ECB. In particular you will support activities relating to the top-down, model-based part of the quality assurance process and related model-based macroprudential analyses. In addition, you will contribute to macroprudential policy, regulatory and risk impact assessments at the national and euro area level, which are carried out using a variety of analytical tools.
You will have excellent opportunities to grow professionally by helping to hire, onboard and train large numbers of staff for stress test exercises. You will work with European banking supervision teams of around 200 people and also organise events with national and international organisations.
The ECB is an inclusive employer and we strive to reflect the diversity of the population we serve. We encourage you to apply irrespective of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or other characteristics.
Your role
As a Management Assistant you will:
- provide administrative and secretarial support to management, in particular by managing agendas and monitoring budgets;
- handle confidential and sensitive information, filing systems, databases and access rights with discretion;
- assist with HR-related processes such as recruitment, inductions and team training courses;
- draft and prepare standard correspondence and short presentations, and take minutes of internal meetings;
- organise meetings, conferences and team events;
- draft, format and proofread documents and presentations.
The position offers you excellent opportunities to join a dynamic and experienced team, contribute to European financial stability and learn from some of the top experts in the field of stress testing and macroprudential policy impact assessment. You will be part of a multicultural team that strives for continuous innovation to make a positive impact on the lives of European citizens.
Qualifications, experience and skills
Essential:
- relevant vocational training or equivalent or a university degree in any relevant field (see How you can join us for details on degree equivalences);
- in addition to the above, a minimum of three years’ professional experience in the field of administrative support, such as taking meeting minutes or assisting in project management;
- proven organisational skills with the ability to take initiative, prioritise, switch flexibly between tasks and work accurately with an eye for detail;
- strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team and establish good working relationships;
- an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Desired:
- experience with record management programs (e.g. Darwin);
- knowledge of budget monitoring and human resource management;
- knowledge in the field of stress testing, finance and banking.
You are recognised as someone who supports others proactively. You work constantly to improve your own output and you learn willingly from other people’s diverse perspectives. You signal any need for change by explaining it and proposing alternative solutions. Your strong capacity for analytical thinking enables you to work with incomplete information and you deliver in line with stakeholder needs.
You are motivated to be part of our team and to develop and use your skills and competencies to achieve the aims of this position.
