Your team
You will be part of the Governance and Transformation Services Division, which acts as a cross-functional service platform under the management of the Chief Services Office (CSO). CSO units have over 800 staff delivering internal ECB services in administration, human resources, information systems and finance.
Our Division has around 50 staff providing horizontal services in the areas of communication, service delivery and optimisation, financial management and quality management. We are currently working on transforming working practices in the CSO units and fostering collaborative and cross-functional approaches with a strong focus on people, flexibility, learning and results.
This position is in the Division’s Internal Communications team. You will join a small, dynamic and collaborative team of internal communication experts who seek to continuously improve the services they offer to the CSO area and beyond and to effect innovation and improvement in the organisation’s way of working. The team provides engaging and open communications to support initiatives and projects driven by colleagues in IT, administration, finance and HR.

Your role
As an Internal Communications Expert you will:
- offer internal communications advice to colleagues and managers;
- develop communication strategies and plans;
- design and coordinate internal communication campaigns;
- create written and audio-visual content;
- review communication material;
- design and deliver (communication) events, training and workshops and help to prepare events and conferences.
Qualifications, experience and skills
Essential:
- a master’s degree or equivalent in communications or another relevant field (for details on degree equivalences);
- in addition to the above, a minimum of three years’ experience in communications of which ideally two years should be in internal communications;
- proven ability to give communications advice to internal customers;
- stakeholder management skills at all levels, mostly with internal stakeholders but also with external partners;
- writing and storytelling skills;
- team spirit, creativity and flexibility;
- an advanced (C1)/mastery-level (C2) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Desired:
- skills and experience in change management, coaching, workshop facilitation, video-making and visual communications.

The contract offered will be short-term ESCB/IO, the appointment being for 12 months as of the exact starting date of the selected person, extendable to up to 36 months.
