Your team

You will be part of the Capital Markets/Financial Structure Division in the Directorate General Monetary Policy. Our Division is responsible for analysing financial markets from a monetary policy perspective. We monitor, analyse and conduct studies on the non-bank transmission of monetary policy, covering the term structure of interest rates, sovereign bond, corporate bond and stock markets, and the financing structure of non-financial corporations. We help prepare decisions on the ECB’s interest rate setting and non-standard monetary policy measures and analyse the impact of those measures on financial markets using quantitative models. We contribute to internal and external publications on monetary policy and euro area financial markets.
In your role as an Economist, you will be part of a team of around 20 members of staff responsible for conducting quantitative analysis, preparing internal and external publications and contributing to briefings for members of the ECB’s Executive Board and senior management. You will collaborate with colleagues across business areas, the Eurosystem, other policy institutions and the academic community and represent the ECB at Eurosystem forums and external events.
The ECB is an inclusive employer and we strive to reflect the diversity of the population we serve. We encourage you to apply, irrespective of your gender, gender identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability or other characteristics.

  • contribute to policy notes and briefing material for members of the Executive Board and senior management;
  • engage and collaborate with other divisions inside and outside your business area.

The position offers you an opportunity to deploy and develop state-of-the-art modelling tools to analyse policy-relevant issues, present your own analytical work and contribute to the policy discussion. You will be part of a multicultural team that strives for continuous innovation to make a positive impact on the lives of European citizens.
