Your team

You will be a member of our newly formed Positioning team – part of the Positioning and Outreach Division within the Directorate Digital Euro. Our Division is rapidly growing and is responsible for:

  • Outreach – implementing the outreach strategy to foster public understanding of, and trust in, a digital euro;
  • Positioning – preparing and implementing the strategy for the positioning and branding of a digital euro.

We are currently in the preparation phase of the digital euro project, where we are planning for the development of a digital euro and building on the findings from the investigation phase. This is an exciting time to join the team as we prepare for the potential issuance of a digital euro and ensure that we are ready and able to support a product launch across all euro area countries.

In your role as our first Team Lead – Positioning, you will lead a team responsible for designing, developing and implementing the positioning and branding strategy. The role offers a stimulating work environment with a high potential for learning. We welcome dynamic candidates who are hands-on, collaborative, adaptable and solutions-focused. You will be working closely with the Outreach, Strategy, and Product Proposition teams, as well as the rest of the digital euro project team and the Directorate General Communications.

The ECB is an inclusive employer, and we strive to reflect the diversity of the population we serve. We encourage you to apply irrespective of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or other characteristics.

Your role

As Team Lead – Positioning, your responsibilities will include:
  • coordinating and managing the daily tasks of the Positioning team and leading, supporting, engaging and developing its individual team members;
  • designing and developing the product positioning and branding strategy for a potential euro area-wide digital euro launch;
  • commissioning, sourcing and working with creative, branding and marketing agencies
  • using an audience-centric approach to harness insights and data to inform decision-making and optimise our resources;
  • managing planning, budget and reporting for your team, encompassing both internal staff and external consultants;
  • ensuring deliverables are achieved and milestones are met in a healthy and fulfilling working environment;
  • serving as a subject matter expert on positioning, and advising the Head of Division and other managers across the Directorate;
  • supporting effective communication and collaboration and interacting directly with both internal Eurosystem colleagues and external stakeholders.

The position offers you excellent opportunities to shape the future of central bank money, ensure it remains available to all citizens and firms in the euro area and, in doing so, support the digitalisation of the euro area economy.
You will be part of a multicultural team that strives for continuous innovation to make a positive impact on the lives of European citizens.
