Your team

You will be part of the External Coordination Office in the Directorate General International and European Relations (DG/I). Our Directorate General prepares policy positions of the ECB, the Eurosystem and the European System of Central Banks on international and European issues in cooperation with other ECB business areas (including ECB Banking Supervision). We analyse economic developments outside the EU, making forecasts for key economies and regions. We also analyse non-macroeconomic policies and EU institutional issues. We prepare briefings for international and European meetings and coordinate international central bank cooperation activities.

In your role as a Business Process Administrator, you will be part of a team of six members of staff responsible for coordinating the ECB’s participation in international fora (e.g. meetings of the G7, the G20, the International Monetary Fund and the Bank for International Settlements) and European fora (e.g. meetings of the Economic and Financial Committee, the Eurogroup, the Eurogroup Working Group, the Economic and Financial Affairs Council and the European Parliament’s Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs). You will work closely with experts in DG/I and you will liaise with other business areas and external stakeholders to prepare for meetings, seminars and conferences involving Executive Board members. The External Coordination Office also provides support to the Secretariat of the International Relations Committee.

The ECB is an inclusive employer and we strive to reflect the diversity of the population we serve. We encourage you to apply irrespective of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or other characteristics.

Your role

As a Business Process Administrator you will:

  • coordinate the preparation of documentation and briefings for international and European meetings attended by ECB representatives;
  • manage multiple assignments and ensure that tasks are prioritised while meeting tight deadlines;
  • engage and collaborate with other team members to achieve the desired results;
  • establish and maintain contacts in other ECB business areas, European institutions/bodies and international organisations;
  • act as key user of the ECB’s document management system (overseeing users, groups, permissions and security clearances) and manage other external digital platforms (from international organisations and European institutions).

The position offers you excellent opportunities to develop strong coordination skills and learn more about the functioning of international organisations and European institutions/bodies. You will be part of a multicultural team that strives for continuous innovation to make a positive impact on the lives of European citizens.

Qualifications, experience and skills

Essential:

  • relevant vocational training or equivalent or a university degree in international relations, political studies, communication or another relevant field (click here for details on degree equivalences);
  • a sound understanding of the tasks and roles of EU institutions and international organisations;
  • professional experience in managing multiple assignments effectively, while prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines;
  • strong teamwork skills and attention to detail;

Desired:

  • a strong sense of initiative and the ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with staff at all levels, both inside and outside the ECB;
  • professional experience in project management.

You are recognised as someone who supports others proactively. You work constantly to improve your own output and you learn willingly from other people’s diverse perspectives. You signal any need for change by explaining it and proposing alternative solutions. Your strong capacity for analytical thinking enables you to work with incomplete information and you deliver in line with stakeholder needs. You are motivated to be part of our team and to use your skills and competencies to achieve the objectives of this position.
